Legendary NFL announcer gushes over Jets’ Aaron Rodgers: ‘Very smart … very convincing’

The Jets finally snapped their five-game losing streak Thursday night thanks to a second-half rally that led them to a 21-13 win over the Houston Texans.
It was a very necessary victory for the Jets, who started the year with sky-high expectations and now improve to 3-6 in Week 9.

After the game, Al Michaels spoke on the Amazon Prime broadcast about the performance from quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
“I mean, Aaron is very smart,” he said, via Awful Announcing. “Obviously, whatever you think of him, he’s a polarizing figure. We know that. But he’s a very well-read guy, very smart and is very convincing. We are sitting there going, ‘Wait a second, they can’t run the table.’ And then he makes you think they can.”
In the first half of Thursday’s win, Rodgers was 7-of-14 for 32 yards and no touchdowns. Some boos rained down on the Jets as they headed to the locker room for half time.
“I was terrible,” Rodgers said.
But in the second half, Garrett Wilson recorded two one-handed touchdown catches and Rodgers connected with Davante Adams for the receiver’s first touchdown as a Jet.
The Jets will now get a 10-day break before they face the Cardinals in Arizona in Week 10.
